SCHOOLS GET RAVE APP

January 25, 2019

FLANKED BY BLOOMFIELD SUPERINTENDENT KIMBERLY MIZELL AND ATTORNEY GENERAL HECTOR BALDERAS, AZTEC SUPERINTENDENT KIRK CARPENTER SPEAKS ABOUT SCHOOL SAFETY AT AN EVENT WEDNESDAY. THE EVENT INTRODUCED THE RAVE MOBILE SAFETY APP SOON TO BE AVAILABLE TO THE FACULTY AND STAFF OF AZTEC AND BLOOMFIELD HIGH SCHOOLS. THE APP HAS FIVE ICONS FOR VARIOUS EMERGENCIES, INCLUDING MEDICAL AND ACTIVE SHOOTER. PRESSING ANY OF THE ICONS CONTACTS 911 AND ALERTS THE OTHER APP USERS ON THE SCHOOL'S LOOP OF THE SITUATION SO THEY CAN TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION. SUPERINTENDENT CARPENTER SAID, "IT'S NOT MINUTES THAT MAKE THE DIFFERENCE IN SAVING LIVES; IT'S SECONDS."
