Folks bundled up and braved frigid temporatures on Monday December 3rd for the Bloomfield Christmas Parade followed by the lighting of the city's annual Celebration of Lights at Salmon Park. Located at 501 N. 5th Street, the celebration features 45 colorful displays depicting angels, animals, stage coaches and even oil wells. "We do this every year because we believe the community loves it, not just the kids but the adults too, everybody gets a kick out of it. We've never had a complaint," Bloomfield City Manager George Duncan told TALON. Duncan wanted to give a special holiday shout-out to Bloomfield Parks an Recreation Director Melinda Gomez and her hard-working crew for their efforts in organizing the parade and the many man-hours building the displays that go into the light show. Duncan said,"Their efforts bring joy to the community."

Check out the Celebration of Light from December 3 till January 1 at Salmon Park. Celebration of Lights is sponsored entirely by donations from area businesses.
