COMMUNITY TURKEY DINNER

Aztec Community Thanksgiving Dinner, Will be hosted by he Aztec SENIOR Community Center with the help of volunteers and donors, at 101 S. Park Ave, Aztec on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22nd, 11:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. 505 334 2881 This meal is provided to the Community free of charge… Get with Cindy to volunteer.

HOLIDAY HOURS

TALON offices will be closed November 22 to allow staff and volunteers time with family for the Holiday. But, never fear, TALON will deliver your weekly local news Friday 11.23 as expected. Early deadlines will apply for advertisers and articles.

DOWNTOWN LIGHTS

The Aztec Economic Development Board, voted on 11/15 to recommend to the Aztec City Commission to go forward with additional decorative lighting for the downtown business corridor. The goal of this project, which is estimated at under $1000, is to brighten the downtown area and make it more enticing to shoppers. A larger concept to hang “Edison” lights across Main was shelved for the time being pending cost estimates.

RIVER GLO AZTEC

First Baptist Church in Aztec has announced the River Glo Aztec walk at Riverside Park, Aztec beginning at 6:30 pm, on 12/7 featuring a Live Nativity scene, Luminarias along the river, AHS and Koogler Choir and a Remembrance Service at 8 pm.

PNM WHINES

After decades of “give me tax breaks or we’ll shut the powerplant down”, and after getting those breaks, PNM plans to take the hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars, and close anyway. Local leaders work to find solutions and a plan to re-balance the local economy in case it happens.
