On November 13th, Aztec's five commissioners will gather at city hall for their first meeting of the month. Based on the agenda for the meeting, they are set to vote on the following consent items: Minutes for the October 15 Special Workshop and minutes for the October 23 Workshop and Meeting; Animal Care and Control Intergovernmental Agreement with Kirtland; Amendment Intergovernmental Detention Center Services Agreement; ITB 2019-666 Church Alley Sewer Replacement Bid Award; and Resolution 2018-1110 Surplus. Commissioners will also vote on the following business items: Final Adoption of Ordinance 2018-483; Intent to Adopt Ordinances 2018-484 and 2018-485.

As of press time, information on the following business items was available:

Final Adoption of Ordinance 2018-483 Amending Chapter 26, Article III, Division 2 Communications Tower and Antenna:

According to a September 25th Staff Summary Report, Chapter 26 of city code is outdated. Therefore, Community Development staff have read through it and drafted significant revisions including expanding three sections, adding three sections, and deleting part of one section.

Intent to Adopt Ordinance 2018-484 International Property Maintenance Code within Chapter 14, Article IV. Dangerous and Unsafe Structures: In an October 9th workshop, City Code Officer Andrew DiCamillo pitched the idea that the city adopt the International Property Maintenance Code. The main reason for integrating the international code into city code is that it gives the city extra authority, and therefore leverage in dealing especially with abandoned and foreclosed houses.
