Kirtland Elementary School hosted 306 high school runners for Kirtland's Bronco Ridge Runner Cross Country Invite last Friday. Runners came from local high schools, as well as from as far away as Laguna-Acoma Pueblo High School in Casa Blanca NM.

Speed demons love Kirtland's soft, almost flat course. It loops around the school playground field, continues onto dirt trails behind the school, loops back and ends on the field. One former Aztec runner commented that this is the course to run a personal record (pr) on.

Every girl on Aztec's varsity team ran a pr. Overall, 22 of Aztec's 28 runners ran a personal best for 5,000 meters at the meet.

This Friday, Aztec'll race against Bloomfield, Gallup, Kirtland, Miyamura, and Shiprock at the District 1 4A Championships in Shiprock.SCORES
