"I like tourism," said Wilann Thomas. She works for Aztec as their Tourism and Marketing Supervisor in the Visitor Center. Thomas grew up traveling because her father was in the military. Later she continued to travel for ministry. She came to this area to work for Navajo Ministries for eight years. In June of 2011 she began work at the Aztec Visitor Center. By January of 2014 she had been promoted to her current position.

There is no typical day for her. "It varies every day depending on what comes in," explained Thomas. She pulls double duty by providing information to people who come into the visitor center and to people at large. "We try to help all visitors with information," said Thomas, whose duties include keeping Visitor Center racks filled with brochures and pamphlets and updating the city's tourism website.

"We have a lot to see; a lot to do," she said referring to the Four Corners area. Her favorite Aztec attraction is the arches. Thomas listed the west-side of the Grand Canyon, Utah canyons, and Mesa Verde as some of her favorite regional spots.

Thomas summed up her job saying, "It's a great job because most everybody who comes in (to the Visitor Center) is happy."
