September 21st ushered in homecoming day for Aztec High School. The day and week prior was filled with activities from the annual bonfire to the powderpuff game, pep rallies, the always popular homecoming parade and the icing on the cake, a long awaited win for Tiger football fans. The boys faced the Crownpoint Eagles and it was soon apparent that they would receive an easy win. The final score was 57-0 by run rule in the beginning of the third quarter. The Tigers played a great game, securing multiple interceptions from #52 Chad Watkins and runs from many new faces in the end zone. Even with a backup QB, #13 Dayton Boone, the Tigers played like he’d been running the field all season. The boys just came to show what they were made of. This was a much needed win and overall morale boost for Aztec. Tigers are now 2-3 with St. Pius at Aztec up next.
