McCoy Elementary PTO Fall Fun Ahead

The McCoy Elementary PTO Meeting Sept 4th @ 3:30 PM was called to order in the library. Meeting are held the first Tuesday of each month to discuss what’s going on at McCoy. Child care is provided by the Aztec Key Club. Door prizes and partcipation awards go to the teacher with the most parents in attendance.

The annual popcorn and pickle fundraising sale starts Sept. 7th. The PTO will offer popcorn, pickles and a variety of snacks for sale each Friday, everything will be .25 cents each with no limit on purchase amount.

Watch for our Fall Fundraiser coming in Sept.

If you wish to be able to attend field trips, volunteer at our school and in the classroom you need to fill out a district volunteer form.

We collect and turn in box tops twice a year. The classroom that collects the the most box tops wins a pizza party!

Students interested in Science Olympiad, see Ms Hays in room 300 to sign up. Let’s get this robot rolling!

➢ Science Fair Opportunities! See Ms Hays in room 300 to get started on this year’s Science Fair!

➢ Science Club meetings will begin on Thursdays after school. Come join in the fun as we travel to sites

of scientific inquiry.

➢ GSA will be meeting in Ms Hays’ room – 300 – on Tuesdays at lunch. Come check us out. Open to everyone.

NHS will be inducting new members this month. Juniors and Seniors be on the lookout for your invitation. We want active, vibrant members to join us in making positive changes to our community.

➢ We will be spearheading the Say Something campaign with Sandy Hook Promise Foundation. Look for our informational posters to arrive this semester.

➢ CyberPatriot is starting to go full swing. If you are interested in cybersecurity, see Ms Hays in room 300. If we have enough participants, we will form a team (or two)

➢ Devteam is always interested in those who would like to learn to program. Come by room 300 to sign up.

➢ Key Club is a student led organization that teaches leadership skills through doing service for our school and community. Some of our signature projects include Movies in the Park all summer and the Haunted Village for Charity. Key Club is a great organization to belong to and is well recognized by colleges and scholarship committees. We invite everyone to join us on Thursday mornings at 7:35 in room 802. A light breakfast is served. Come on by even if you can’t get to school that early. We provide a newsletter with activities, projects, and important dates so you can be involved. Have your son or daughter check us out.

We no longer accept phone calls for verification of absence. You may send a parent or Dr note upon your students return, or reply to the email you receive from the notification system the email will come from the following address for an Absence or Tardy AH- [email protected] (Aztec High School”) Just reply to that and it will come to me. If you need to let me know in advance of an absence send me a email to my direct address which is, [email protected]

This must be done within two days of the absence in order for you student to be able to make up any work he/she has missed.
