AZTEC CLEANUP

September 22nd, City of Aztec will conduct cleanup efforts at Aztec Motocross, 10 am - Noon, and Hart Canyon Arch 9 am - Noon. Volunteers are needed. Contact Jeff Blackburn, COA Parks & Rec Director at 505-334-7666 to get involved.

WATER OUTAGE

On September 12th, COA Public Works will work on installation of a new a Fire hydrant. Affected areas for the outage were County Roads 2595; 2598; 2597; 2596; also affected North Heights; Quail Run and Sonny Drive.

TEEN VAPING

This week Associated Press reported that U.S. health officials say teenage use of e-cigarette has reached “epidemic” levels and are calling on the industry to address the problem or risk having their flavored products pulled off the market. The five largest e-cigarette manufacturers will have 60 days to produce plans to immediately reverse underage use of their products.

HURRICANE FLORENCE

According to the U.S. National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Florence, is expected to make landfall on the Carolinas coastal areas on Thursday & Friday this week. So far over seven thousand citizens have filled emergency shelters.
