Ride the Albuquerque Tram/Dynatheater “The Humpback Whales”. We are headed to Albuquerque on Wednesday, September 12 to ride the tram and then to the Natural History Museum for the IMAX theater presentation of “The Humpback Whales. We will leave the center at 6:30AM with a return around 5PM. The Bloomfield Seniors non-profit will be paying for the tram and IMAX Theater tickets—you just need money for lunch and anything else you wish to purchase. Seats on the van will go fast so call and reserve your seat today! 632-8351.

Our Ice Cream Tasting continues with a trip to ColdStone Ice Cream Shop on Tuesday, Sept. 20. We will leave the center at 5pm and head to Farmington. You will be purchasing your own ice cream. Call the center to reserve your space on the van or you can drive yourself and meet us there.

The Bloomfield Seniors Flea Market will take place on Saturday, October 13 from 9AM-2PM at the main parking lot at the senior center. Booth spaces are $10 each for a 10 x 10 spot. You supply your own tables, chairs, and shade canopies. We will be selling food onsite. Deadline to reserve and pay for a space is October 5.

The Knitting Group will be starting up again in September! We will meet Fridays from 9:30-11:30AM at the senior center to knit, crochet, needlepoint, whatever floats your boat! Not sure how to start, we will show you. We will also have yarn you can use to help us make items to give away to those in need for the colder months. THE PUBLIC is welcome to attend this group—no matter your age! 632-8351 for more information or to donate yarn, knitting needles, and crochet hooks for the projects

Spare Change Jars are out in the community at these locations: Big R, Farmer’s Market, Sonya’s Restaurant, Roadside Restaurant, Panda Garden Restaurant, The Wooden Nickle, DJ’s Pizza, and Ace Hardware. This spare change is used to help Bloomfield families in need at the holiday times. Please be generous and the jars do accept paper money as well as coins!!

Volunteers are always appreciated at the Bloomfield Senior Center. We need people to help meal delivery drivers, kitchen help, garden help, and more. Call or come by the center and see how you can help out your community. Perks include a homemade, yummy lunch and a membership to the Bloomfield Fitness Center (depending on number of hours volunteering), and lots of laughter! 632-8351

Monetary donations for the Bloomfield Senior Center Meal Program are always welcome. Donations for the meal program go directly to food for the Home Delivery and In-house programs. We appreciate any monetary donations from the public, and we are now able to accept debit and credit card payments! Call the center to donate today.

Articles needed at the Bloomfield Senior Center Include:

Yarn, knitting needles, and crochet hooks for community knitting projects

Dog biscuits for our home-delivery 4-legged companions

Dry food items such as pinto beans, pasta, brown rice, etc.
