Ken and Tina celebrate 50 years of marriage

Mr and Mrs Kenneth Brooks (Ken & Tina) of Albuquerque celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on August 10th.

They were married August 10th 1968 in the base chapel of Selfridge AFB. Ken, a 1962 graduate of Aztec (NM) High School, enlisted in the Air Force in 1965 and during a 21 year career was stationed at several worldwide locations. He and Tina retired in 1986 and settled in Albuquerque. They were previously stationed at Holloman AFB and Kirtland AFB in NM.

Tina is the former Christina Frasier of Watertown NY. They met at Selfridge AFB, near Detroit. Tina was working for the board of education in Detroit. She spent the 50 years being a homemaker and mom. They have 2 adult children, Debbie (Brooks) Burton and Roger Brooks, both residing in Albuquerque.

Ken wasn't satisfied with retired life so he spent the next 18 years driving a semi. When he left that job, retired life stuck. His hobby now is raising flowers and veggies. Their "ranchito" is very small however, since they reside in a mobile home park. He is hoping to make some "spicy" salsa with his tomatoes, onions, garlic and "ghost" peppers, and other milder peppers.
