On July 2 the City of Aztec enacted Stage 2 of the water shortage emergency. Everyone is expected to obey the following when using city water outside: Only water trees, lawns, and gardens on Wednesdays and Saturdays if your address is even, Thursdays and Sundays if your address is odd, water between 4-10am or 6-10pm only, people who grow plants to sell are exempt; Wash water repellant areas and items such as sidewalks and cars only on Tuesdays, Thursday, and Saturdays, unless it’s a health risk to not clean; Do not fill pools; Only run water features that recirculate water; Do not run water features or water plants if wind is more than 12mph. These limits do not apply to ditch water. Disobedient users face warnings and fines. Also, the Splash Park may be open on a different schedule.
