Among the stellar New Mexico high school seniors chosen to play in the All Star softball game at UNM this past weekend were Aztec's Alaina Sayler (second base) and Juliana Mitchell (left field, and center field). "Even though we lost," said Mitchell, "we got to play another game and be on the field again, and also meet new people, and that was really fun actually." It sounds like the girls will continue to have fun.

Sayler plans to go into party planning. First, she'll get her Associate of Arts Degree from Otero Community College in La Junta, Colorado. She signed to play two years of softball for the Otero Rattlers. That's another reason to smile because Sayler said, "I love the game with every single piece of my heart."

Mitchell might try walking onto the softball or track team at Southern Utah University in Cedar City, where she'll be working on a nursing degree. "I like helping people a lot," Mitchell explained, "I just like to learn about the body too."

Good job girls, and bon voyage.
