The High Desert Community Credit Union (formerly BAB Credit Union) announces the hiring of Dan Ford as the new Chief Executive Officer of the organization.

After 44 years of community banking, Mr. Ford, a 1966 graduate of Aztec High and recently the football broadcaster for the Tigers, was called out of retirement to manage the financial institution. "I never thought I would return to this profession but the opportunity to return to my home town and contribute to its citizens was too tempting" said Ford.

His career has taken him from Denver, Pueblo, CO, Albuquerque and Alaska before returning to Bayfield, CO in 1988. He retired in 2014 and devoted his time to broadcasting and writing historical records of high school football including a history of Aztec Tiger Football, covering games back to 1911.

High Desert was originally formed as a teacher credit union for Bloomfield, Aztec & Blanco (Hence BAB) employees in 1956 but has recently expanded to serve the wider community. Ford replaces Brian Bone who managed the credit union for 2 ½ years before relocating out of state. Today, High Desert Credit Union has three other employees and almost 2,000 members.

Ford commented, "I am looking forward to refreshing old acquaintances and meeting new people. We intend to expand and grow High Desert and offer more products and services to our members who grow with us."
