Fran Fillerup of San Juan County, and Tracy O'Neal, 2017-2018 LGLP Committee Member, Labor Relations Specialist, New Mexico Air National Guard, and LGLP Class of 2015.

Leadership New Mexico is pleased to announce that Fran Fillerup, Public Works Administrator for San Juan County, is among the 21 statewide professionals who recently graduated from the sixteenth Local Government Leadership Program.

The Local Government Leadership Program is an educational partnership between the New Mexico Association of Counties, the New Mexico Municipal League, the New Mexico School Boards Association and Leadership New Mexico. These organizations joined together to provide a unique educational experience to county and municipal officials, school board members, members of the New Mexico National Guard and regional councils of governments.

The Local Government Leadership Program curriculum is patterned after Leadership New Mexico's Core Program, and is designed to provide local leaders the opportunity to explore the critical issues facing New Mexico and participate in skill-building workshops. The program seeks to prepare local officials with the background and knowledge necessary to undertake their civic responsibility and instill in them a passion for effective and ethical public service. Since its inception in 2002, the Local Government Leadership Program has held 16 programs with a total of 346 participants. These participants represent 41 municipalities, 27 counties, 14 school districts and two regional councils of government, and there have been 10 New Mexico National Guard participants.
