TALON READER ASKED, COULD THE CITY MAINTAIN A SUGGESTION BOX?

Recently, TALON reader Genevieve Hoyt, Aztec asked “ Do you suppose the city would consider having a suggestion box somewhere near the local offices where people could drop off comment and questions about local concerns? Often times citizens notice problem areas that need attention. Also it would be a nice place to provide “thank you” notes for a job well done. “

TALON Investigated and, according to City of Aztec employee Ed Kotyk, the City once had a suggestion box at City Hall, but the suggestion box was removed at the first of the year due to non-use.

TODAY, Citizen suggestions to City may be provided by:

Email - use the [email protected] email and the email will be delivered to the appropriate department. Put in the Subject line “Citizen Suggestion”

Facebook - Facebook: @CityofAztec. This page is monitored and info/questions are sent to the appropriate department head for feedback.

Written - deliver a sealed letter to the front desk at City Hall and the letter will be opened by either the City Clerk or City Manager, write on the outside of the envelope “Citizen Suggestion.” Suggestions can be dropped off Monday - Thursdays from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.
