Aztec High School


•AHS is developing a club to encourage and educate students interested in computer programming. We will be meeting after school on Mondays. If you are interested in being a part of this new opportunity, sign up outside of room 300.

•Playmakers is going into full swing for our performance of Fiddler on the Roof. However, we are still looking for more students who would be interested in playing the smaller roles of the of the community in the village as well as to help with the choir pieces. If your child is interested in being a part of this great experience, please contact Ms. Youts.

•Yearbook sales in room 401, they are now $60 or online

•We are also preparing for a trip to the Thespian Festivals in February and we are need of chaperones for the trip. We will also be needing extra hands for the upcoming show, if you know of anyone who loves to sing and act please spread the word.

•Key Club will be hosting the spring Blood Drive on Tuesday, March 6. Blood banks rely heavily on student donors to keep their blood supplies up. Students who are 16 or 17 must have parent permission. Permission slips are available from Mrs. Klein in room 802 or the office. Those over 18 can just sign up. Donors can now make appointments at http://www.bloodhero.com. Sign up early to get the appointment time you want!!

•Science club is coming down to the wire on our 2 year effort to get students out to Mt Lemmon Observatory Sky School for some training on the big ‘scope, Biosphere 2 including the engineering that made it workable, and a tour of the University of Arizona campus. After the tragic events of early December, we were unable to complete some of our fundraising efforts. Any donations would be appreciated. We are also selling firewood that students cut and are willing to bring to you and even stack for you. We are certainly willing to work, we just need the opportunities.

• National Honor Society is offering tutoring services during lunch and after school Tuesday and Thursday. Check in with NHS if you would like to have peer help with school work

Koogler Middle School

•Peach’s Neet Feet is coming for Hustle and Art on March 9th.

•7th grade Science SBA testing will be on March 13th.

•Dance on Friday, February 23rd from 3:30pm-5:30pm. In order to attend, students must have no Fs by February 20th, must have no ISS or OSS for this quarter, and must purchase a ticket for $3. Students may not leave campus after school to go to the gas station or anywhere else before the dance.

•Yearbooks are selling out quickly!! They are $35 cash at Koogler Middle School. We offer payment plans so come see Mrs. A. Lee.

Park Ave. Elementary

•Tiger Time is Park Avenue’s intervention or enrichment block. This occurs Tuesday-Friday from 2:30pm-3:00pm. Students may rotate to different teachers based on their specific needs. During this time teachers are engaging students in targeted activities in Math and ELA.

•In February, we will be jumping rope and learning some floor hockey skills.

•For those interested in track, sign-ups will begin sometime in March. Dates TBD. Coach Eighme

•FROM THE HEALTH OFFICE - Remember if your child has a temperature over 100 or is vomiting please keep him/her home. Because there are so many illnesses going around, we are requiring students to be fever/vomit free for 24 hours before returning to school.

Lydia Rippey Elementary

•WE HAVE A COMMUNITY CUPBOARD set up at Lydia Rippey! This is a cupboard of non-perishable food to help out our community. Please leave what you can and take what you need.

McCoy Elementary

•PTO MEETING the first Tuesday of each month at 3:30PM in the Library to discuss upcoming events at McCoy. Door prizes given out at each meeting, child care provided, and participation awards for teachers with the most parent attendance.

•PTO BOARD will be elected this April at our monthly PTO meeting for the 2018/2019 school year.

•Family Literacy Night Feb 22 @ 5-6PM. Collecting boxtops until Feb. 23rd. Jumprope for Heart ends Feb 28th.
