Marko Kecman of Farmington, NM, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017 from Alzheimer's. Marko is survived two sons, Karl Kecman of Durango and Micah Kecman of Harrogate, England. In 1977 Marko moved to Farmington, beginning a 35 year career with the Bureau of Reclamation and the Bureau of Land Management. He was an avid and well-published photographer, scoutmaster for troop 328 in Aztec, and an outdoor enthusiast. Marko was a very active member of the Baha'i Faith, declaring his belief in Baha'u llah in 1977. He served on the local Spiritual Assemblies of Farmington and Aztec. His love for the Faith was profound and he enthusiastically shared the beliefs of the Fath with everyone he met. One of his greatest personal achievements was capturing on film images of Comet Hail-Bopp which appeared over the Southwest in 1997. He traveled far and frequently in pursuit of such images.

A graveside service was held Jan. 8, 2018 at the Aztec Cemetery.

Charles "Edgar" McFarland, 83, of Aztec, passed away Monday, Jan. 1, 2018, at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington. He was born June 20, 1934, in Oklahoma City, Okla. Cremation will take place and at his request, no services will be held.

Avis Martin

Avis Catherine Martin, age 79, was called to heaven by our Lord Jesus Christ on December 28th, 2017, after an eight month battle with brain cancer. Avis is survived by her loving husband, of 62 years, Sid Martin. Avis died peacefully in her cherished home, in Mesa, Arizona, on the day of her 62nd Wedding Anniversary. Avis was a great mother, a terrific friend and worked tirelessly at bettering any community she was involved in. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. A Rosary will be held on Saturday January 13th at 10:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 500 N. Mesa Verde Ave., Aztec, New Mexico. A Mass will be held at 10:30 AM the same day officiated by Rev. Joachim Blonski, Celebrant, Rev. David Tate, Con-celebrant, and assisted by Deacon Matt Lamoreux. In lieu of flowers, we would ask contributions be made to the "Parish Poor Fund," c/o St. Joseph's Parish Office, 424 N. Mesa Verde, Aztec, New Mexico, 87410Aztec

Maxine Fuller, 99, of Aztec, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018, in Aztec. She was born September 16, 1918, in Shawnee, OK to Leo and Lucille Cox.
