Sarah Elizabeth Trujillo

1981 - 2017

Sarah Elizabeth Trujillo took her last breath on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, giving the gift of life to three other families through the generous choice of organ donation that she made prior to her death.

Sarah was a "one of a kind" woman: beautiful, smart, funny, generous, and full of life. She would cuss like a sailor, fight like a man, but would give her last dollar to someone in need. Sarah was the ultimate contradiction as many of her family and friends would attest to - if she cared about you, you knew she always "had your back."

Sarah was born in the morning hours, May 14, 1981 to Cheryl and Pete Trujillo in Albuquerque, NM. She attended Aztec Schools and San Juan College. She had two beautiful daughters; Kaitlyn, a senior at Piedra Vista High School, and Bella, a fourth grader in Ms. McGrath's life skills class at Park Avenue Elementary School. Sarah became very involved in Autism Awareness after discovering her daughter, Bella, was severely autistic at a young age. She loved both of her daughters deeply and would do anything for either of them.

Sarah suffered many hardships during her short time with us, and the odds often seemed stacked against her. Despite that, Sarah always reminded us to keep fighting and to never give up in the process. She was a walking miracle in many respects, and taught us that we should always believe in them too.

Sarah is survived by her children Kaitlyn Yvonne Trujillo and Estreya (Bella) Isabella Barela; her fiancé, Freddy Alcon; her parents, Pete and Cheryl Trujillo; siblings Rebecca (Becky), Isaiah, and Rachel Trujillo, her beautiful niece, Ava Adelia Warren, and her beloved nephews, Robert Antonio Warren and Lucas Eric Trujillo.

We would like to sincerely thank those who showed the family generosity, compassion, and kindness during this very difficult time. Words cannot express our sincere appreciation. May God bless you.

Memorial services will be at the First United Methodist Church in Aztec, NM on Saturday, December 30 at 10:30 am. There will be no reception afterwards.

I am so proud of the woman my daughter became. She was a terrific mother to her two daughters and I will miss her terribly.
