Aztec High School

Remember to save the date! Playmakers will be performing their production of “A 21st Century Christmas Carol” on December 14-16th, 2017 at 7 p.m.

All credit recovery class will need to be completed December 14th.

Koogler Middle School

Letters will be sent home to students who are in danger of retention beginning December 11th. If a student is failing two or more core subject classes at the end of the semester they could be held back or have to go to summer school.

Student of The Month Assemblies will be during TUT on Friday, December 15th.

Yearbooks are still on sale for $30 before winter break. After the break the cost will be $35. The yearbook purchases are cash only.

There will be a school dance on December 20th. Tickets will be sold the week of December 11th-15th during lunches. Tickets are $3.00 but students may bring a can of food to substitute $1 towards the cost of the ticket. So, bring three cans to cover the ticket price. The canned food will benefit the fire department’s canned food drive.

Koogler will be having Science Week Dec. 11-15. The science department will be hosting different events each day. Eighth grade students will be doing Science Olympiad, each student has to do one event. Sixth grade students are only doing Science Fair. 7th grade students had a choice to either do Science Fair or Science Olympiad. Special Thanks to Mr. Patton and Mrs. Salazar for letting us use their classrooms to host these events. The Science Fair will be held Dec. 15 in the gym.

Park Ave. Elementary

Students at Park are also participating in the food drive for the Aztec Fire Dept. Last day to donate canned food will be Dec 20th. The winner from each grade will receive a free recess.

December reading challenge takes place Dec 4-19. Students can choose ten different reading challenges.

Lydia Rippey Elementary

Lydia Rippey students are also participating in the food drive for the Aztec Fire Department. The food will go to families in the Aztec School District.

Cozy Christmas is a student-led donation drive to support families in need at Grace Place Pregnancy & Health Center. Students are taking donations of diapers, wipes, baby socks, clothes, blanket, gently used cribs and new car seats. Items can be dropped off at Lydia Rippey until Dec. 15.

The 3rd grade Christmas program will be held at 9 AM and 6 PM on Dec. 12.

Santa’s Workshop will be up and running Dec. 13-15, enabling students to purchase gifts for their family members.

School-side caroling will be held Dec. 16, 2:30 PM, in the gym.

Kindergarten ABC Winter Funland will be Dec. 18. This celebrations is a reward for kindergartners who know all upper case and lower case letters.

Christmas break will be Dec. 21 - Jan. 3.

McCoy Elementary

Students at McCoy are also participating in the food drive for the Aztec Fire Dept. The class in each grade that collects the most food will win a pizza party or an ice cream party. Last year McCoy collected 3100 food items which amounted to 5600 pounds.
