Flavors include: Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, Gingersnaps, Biscochitos, Coconut Macaroons, and Oatmeal Raisin. Cost of cookies is $5 per dozen. The Utility Assistance Program began on November 1. The Bloomfield Seniors will pay $50 towards the utilities of senior citizens with a Bloomfield zip code or who frequent the Bloomfield Senior Center. This will be a one-time payment towards natural gas, propane, electricity, wood pellets, wood or coal. There is an application to fill out at the senior center and receipts or heating bills will be required with the application. Payment will be made out to the utility—not the individual presenting the bill. This assistance will be for the first 20 seniors who apply. The assistance will continue through March or until 20 seniors have been helped.

Donations for the Bloomfield Senior Center are always welcome. Donations will go towards the food program, utility assistance for seniors, trips and entertainment, scholarships for local high school seniors, and much more. Donations are tax-deductible and may be mailed or dropped off at the senior center, 124 West Ash, Bloomfield, NM 87413 or dropped off at the main City building at 915 N. 1st Street. Help us to support older adults throughout San Juan County. We greatly appreciate your help and support.

Spare Change Jars are out in the community at: Big R, Farmer’s Market, Sonya’s, Roadside, Panda Garden, and Ace Hardware. This spare change is used to help Bloomfield families in need. This year we have been able to help 10 families at $100 per family with the spare change that people have donated. Please be generous - and the jars do accept paper money as well as coins!
