Several area Young American Football teams traveled to the 2017 High Dessert State Championship Tournament held Nov. 11 and 12 in Albuquerque.

Aztec Apes

The Outlaws brought home a first place trophy in the Mighty Mites Division. The Outlaws had to play the Hobbs Eagles twice in the tournament and won both games. The team is made up of 7 and 8 years-olds (second graders) from Aztec, Farmington and Kirtland.

The Aztec Apes won a second place at the tournament. The Apes team is made up of 9-10 years olds in fourth grade.

Bloomfield Bobcats took second place for the PeeWee Division in the Cactus bracket.

The Farmington Titans brought home a second place after double overtime in the Freshman Division of the Zia bracket.
