About 50 people attended the dedication of the George T. Duncan Fire Station on November 1.

In a resolution on October 28, 2017, Bloomfield Mayor Scott Eckstein and the Bloomfield City Council declared the Bloomfield Fire Station, which is located at 911 N, First Street, be renamed the George T. Duncan Fire Station.

The resolution recognized Duncan's 45 years of service to the city, his determination to put the safety of the city and its residents as his top priority, and his leadership, experience and vision to the city.

The dedication also unveiled the plaque that honored Duncan and brought together city officials and past, present, and future Bloomfield firefighters, and community leaders.
