Emma Jean Hottell Claunch

Aug. 10, 1933 - Oct. 27, 2017

Emma Jean Hottell Claunch, 84 passed into the arms of Jesus on October 27, 2017 at her home in Hobbs, NM. She was born in 1933 in Union County, Grenville, NM to Willard Eugene "Gene" and Jewel Berry Hottell.

Emma Jean graduated from Aztec High School in 1951. She retired as Eleventh Judicial Court Clerk in 1982. She married Paul Claunch in 1990. They traveled thousands of miles for Gideons International.

She is survived by two brothers, Willard Hottell and wife Kathryn of Bayfield, CO; Jake Hottell and wife Sharon of Aztec, NM; nephews, Brent Hottell, Zachary Hottell, Johnathan Hottell and wife Aleece; three step-children, Randy Claunch and wife Suzanne, Sandra Claunch, Ricky Claunch and wife Renee'; granddaughters Amanda Hardie and husband Isaiah, Kimberlee Claunch, and great-grandchildren Amber, Shaley, Addison and Samuel Hardie.

She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Claunch, parents Gene and Jewel, and nephew Darin Grant Hottell.

Funeral services were Oct. 31 at Faith Assembly in Hobbs. Burial followed at Prairie Haven Cemetery. In leiu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gideon International.
