As it goes with most things in this life, nothing lasts forever, not even a hometown winning streak that we really, really wanted to last (insert pouty face). Still, the Tiger’s fought a hard battle in front of a packed house Friday night. It was AHS vs. FHS on the chilly gridiron at Fred Cook Memorial Stadium in Aztec. Both district teams came to the field undefeated and they both meant to keep it that way. The action began straight away and kept the fans cheering throughout all four quarters. Even after halftime when things looked bleak, Tiger fans kept heart that the boys would pull though.

Unfortunately they did not, but don’t think that FHS played such a solid game themselves. Both teams brought to the table 5 turnovers, 4 fumbles and one interception leading to multiple penalties, delays and even boos. Farmington was off, Aztec was off, and also missing fan favorite Justin Black who was watching from the sidelines with an injury. I wish we could call it a scratch and move on but that final score of 20-56 will not be going away any time soon. Monday morning rankings read Farmington 3, Aztec 10 in New Mexico high school football.

This coming week is Aztec @ Gallup. Good luck boys!!
