On Oct. 22, Aztec hosted a group of eight tour group operators from around the country. Their visit began with breakfast and a hike to some of the local arches led by Ed Kotyk and Wilann Thomas from the City of Aztec. After lunch and a visit to Aztec Ruins, they were taken on a guided tour of Historic Main St. led by Sandi Harber of Urban Rebel Antiques. The final stop was a tour of Aztec Museum and Pioneer Village before being treated to a delicious dinner provided by The Purple Cow and Sutherland Farms at the Presidential Inn and Suites. The tour operators gave some very good feedback for our city. The City’s Tourism department is making great efforts to emphasize our historical downtown along with the other area attractions.

The City Tourism Department and Visitor Center is a great resource for information on our City. While they have an emphasis on tourism they also have information on “All things Aztec” from maps and brochures for Aztec and surrounding areas to information on “happenings and goings on” for the area.
