Key Club will be hosting a “Haunted Village for Charity” at Aztec Museum’s Pioneer Village on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 7:00 to 10:30 and on Halloween from 7:00 to 10:00. Admission will be $5 for ages 13 and older and $3 for ages 12 and under. Not recommended for children under 6 years old. Proceeds will benefit national and local charities such as U.N.I.C.E.F., March of Dimes, Aztec Animal Shelter, Aztec Library, and the Aztec Boys and Girls Club. Come out to get a scare and support worthy organizations!

The AHS Band competed at the Pageant of Bands Festival in Albuquerque on Saturday, Oct. 21, and did an amazing job. Only four points separated 2nd -5th places. Although the band did not place, the students were awarded the ”Overall Spirit Award.” This award is given to the band that exudes the most sportsmanship, professionalism and spirit.

NMSBA Senior Science Testing Retakes will be on November 1. Student will be tested during the morning classes at AHS.

All seniors need to have their pictures to Ms. Candelaria by October 31st. If any senior still needs someone to take photos, check with Ms. Candelaria.

AHS Yearbooks are on sale now for $40 until the end of October. The books can be purchased in Room 902 at the high school, or online at http://www.yearbookordercenter.com.

Koogler Middle School will be having a concert on Oct 31. The Imagine band will be playing from 1:45 to 3 PM. A costume contest will be going on at the same time.

Park Avenue Elementary will be hosting their costume parade on Oct. 31 at 1:30. Students and staff will be wearing book characters as their costumes.

McCoy Elementary staff is having a costume contest on Halloween. A trophy will be awarded for best costume.

Lydia Rippey Elementary recently had a NED Show (Never give up, Encourage others and Do your best) about positive behavior. After the show, the students were able to buy yoyos for $5. All the proceeds from the yoyo sale go back into the program to enable them to continue their show for other students. All extra yoyos that weren’t sold will be donated to the military.
