Did you know that your teen can begin college while still in high school? Find out how at one of two Dual Credit Parent Nights. The first event is Tuesday, November 7 at 6 p.m. at the San Juan College Henderson Fine Arts Center in rooms 9008 through 9010. The second event is Tuesday, November 14 at 6 p.m. on the San Juan College West Campus in room 115, 69 County Road 6500 in Kirtland.

The Dual Credit Program at San Juan College allows eligible junior or senior high students from Bureau of Indian Education (BIE), private, home-schooled and public high schools to enroll in San Juan College courses. Students receive high school core and academic elective credit as well as college credit for the courses taken.

Through the Dual Credit Program, the cost of tuition is covered by the students’ high school through the State of New Mexico. Students who complete Dual Credit courses will receive high school credit, meet high school graduation requirements and any credits earned are eligible to transfer to other universities throughout the country.

The meeting is open to all San Juan County parents of high school students and the students. The presentation is expected to last 30 minutes with a question and answer session to follow. Refreshments will be served.
