The Aztec Tigers bagged another win in game three of district playoffs. Friday the 13th's unlucky charm did not rub off on the boys in the conference neutral match that marked a long begrudged, eight-mile rivalry between the Bobcats and Tigers. The Tigers continue to bring the heat with their improved teamwork and solid offense that ultimately lead to the 41-13 Tiger victory and Bobcat elimination. The win bumped Tigers one spot to 35th in New Mexico 5A standings but on a National level, they climbed 104 spots last week.

This Friday, Oct. 20, the Tigers, undefeated in district play, will host the also undefeated-in-district Farmington Scorpions. Aztec's head coach Matthew Stienfeldt piques our interest by saying, "As of now we're trying to move forward with the district schedule. Our boys are making progress every week and I'm excited to bring FHS here in front of our crowd at the Fred Cook Stadium.
