Mary Ann Duran Holguin

Mary Ann Duran Holguin went home quietly with her family around her on October 5, 2017. She is survived by Adonelia Talamante, who she raised as her daughter; husband Ramon Holguin; two daughters Carmen and Carol; and two sons Sammy Duran, Ramon Holguin. She also raised Chezz Holguin as her own. She had eight granddaughters, seven grandsons, and several great-grand-children. She was buried in Durango on Oct. 16, 2017.

Adolfo “Duffy” Gomez

Aug. 17, 1962 - Oct. 9, 2017

Adolfo “Duffy” Gomez, 55, of Aztec, was carried away with his Guardian Angel to watch his sunset Monday, Oct. 9, 2017, in Aztec. He was born Aug. 17, 1962, in Farmington.

Funeral Mass was held Oct. 16 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Interment followed at St. Rose Cemetery. There will be a private family burial at a later date.

Judith “Judy” A. Norton-Bennett

April 18, 1944 - Oct. 11, 2017

Judith “Judy” A. Norton-Bennett, 73, of Aztec, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, at SJRMC in Farmington. She was born April 18, 1944, in Paonia, Colo. to C. Carmont and Sarah Marguerite Price-Norton.

She taught school in Colorado before moving to Aztec. She taught music for two years in the elementary school, then second grade at Lydia Rippy Elementary school for the next 26 years.

Judy was active in LaPlata Order of Eastern Star and also become active in Aztec Order of Eastern Star after moving here. She was also an active member and officer in Farmington Assembly of The Social Order of Beaceont, member of The Daughters of the Nile, “Does,” the N.M. State Fire Fighters Association, and past president of the N.M. State Fire Fighters Ladies Auxiliary.

A funeral service for Judy will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21 at Aztec First Baptist Church, 700 Navajo St. in Aztec with Rod Conover officiating, and will include a Social Order of Beauceont services. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, in Farmington.
