SCHOOL BITS

October 20, 2017

Timberline Shoes has teamed up with a church and on Oct. 24 each student at McCoy Elementary will receive a new pair of shoes. The students were measured earlier in the year to make sure the new shoes will fit.

Parent-Teacher conferences will be Thursday, Oct. 26 and Friday, Oct 27 for McCoy, Lydia Rippey and Park Ave. students. The students will get out at 12:10 on Thursday. There will be no school on Friday.

The students at Lydia Rippey did a snack sale on Friday, Oct 20. Proceeds from the sale go to the Parent Volunteer Group (PVG) for school events and improvements.

On Oct. 27 Koogler Middle School will giving out the student of the month awards. There will be a winner for each grade. The sixth grade assembly will begin at 11:30 am, followed by 7th graders at 12:30 and 8th graders at 1:30.

The music program at Park Avenue will have a Veteran’s Day theme, so it will be very patriotic. There are nine 4th grade classes, so they will be split up into two different nights. Mrs. Nixon, Ms. Warren, Mrs. McCoy, and Mrs. Rivera’s classes will perform on Monday, November 6. Mr. Carbajal, Mrs. Norris, Mrs. Lund, Mrs. Moore, and Ms. Lemons’ classes will perform on Thursday, November 9.

Both programs will start at 6:30 and will last about 30 minutes, with the students singing together as a large group, and also as separate classes. The program will take place in Park Avenue’s gymnasium.
