Dr. Phrenzy’s Phunhouse of Phobias - Aztec

“What are you afraid of?” says the poster. This first time event, hosted by a new Aztec business, Escape Games New Mexico, is located at 200 South Ash St., Aztec, and will operate from October 20 through the 31st, nightly from 6 to 10 pm. This new addition to the Aztec area’s haunted efforts is making a splash. Featuring the efforts of many imaginative minds, the creators hope to set a new bar for value at haunted house events this season. Not recommended for persons under 8 years old, admission is $5 per person, and groups are welcomed. INFO: 505-333-7195

Key Club Haunted Village - Aztec

Aztec High School Key Club will drag out the spirits and spooktacular saints for the Haunted Village benefiting various charities this year. The village is located at the Pioneer Village in Aztec, located at 125 N Main Ave. in Aztec. This always popular haunted house is open to all ages, although organizers do not recommend it for persons 6 years of age or less. The event will be open both Saturday, October 28, from 7 - 10:30 pm, and Halloween evening from 7 - 10 pm. Admission is $3 for 12 and over, and $5 for all others. INFO: 505- 334-9829.

Safe Treats - Aztec

This hugely popular event typically brings nearly a thousand costumed families to the area and is sponsored by local merchants and the Aztec Chamber of Commerce. Safe Treats provides an early evening trick- or-treating event open to all ages. It gets people out in the community. Held from 4-6 pm on Oct. 31, businesses all over Aztec participate, opening their doors and trick-or-treat baskets to the everyone. And it’s free!

Haunted House - Bloomfield

“Come if you dare!” is presented by The Boys & Girls Club of Bloomfield at 225 W. Main St., behind Farmers Market. This event, in its third year, features community volunteers whose creative energy comes together to make an experience worth driving for. The haunted house will be open October 27-31, from 8:30 pm> Admission is $5. INFO: 505-632-0123

Halloween Carnival & Costume Contest - Farmington

Saturday October 28, from 12 to 5 pm at the Health and Human Performance Center Gym in Farmington. The event is open to all ages, with prizes for the top three costumes. INFO: 505-566-3403

Haunted House and Hayride - Farmington

You are invited to the San Juan County Fairgrounds at McGee Park Goat Barn to enjoy a haunted house for one night only, October 28, 6-9 pm and 9:30-11:30 pm. Cost is $5 per person. This event is hosted by the Mental Health Task Group to raise money for the next Crisis Intervention Team Training and community outreach efforts.

BOO-Palooza - Farmington

This is a family friendly Halloween party in historic downtown Farmington with games, dancing, live DJ, costume contests and trick-or-treating. Ghouls, goblins, and ghosties unite for the best Halloween bash ever. From 4-6 p.m., on Tuesday, October 31, downtown Farmington will transform into Halloween central with carnival games, a Monster Mash Dance in Orchard Park, a costume contest for children and even those decked out pets, and lots more!
