FISHING REPORT

Animas River: Water flow below Aztec on Monday morning was 289 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.

Bluewater Lake: Fishing was slow with just a few tiger muskies caught by anglers using in line spinners, large spoons and crank baits. One catfish was caught by an angler using hot dogs.

Cochiti Lake: Fishing was slow to fair using jigs, creature baits and worms for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Fishing was slow to fair using shrimp, stink bait and chicken liver for catfish. We had no other reports.

El Vado Lake: Fishing was fair using worms for perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow trout. A few bass were also caught by anglers using tubes and spinners. Kokanee snagging was slow.

Jackson Lake: Fishing was fair to good using worms and PowerBait for trout. We had no other reports.

Jemez Waters: Stream flow on the Jemez River near Jemez Springs on Monday morning was 28.6 cfs. Trout fishing on the Jemez River was good using worms, copper John Barrs and salmon eggs. Fishing on the lower Cebolla was good using wooly buggers, Pistol Petes and worms. We had no other reports.

Lake Farmington: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Navajo Lake: Fishing was good using crank baits, jerk baits, tubes, creature baits, jigs, swim baits and senkos for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Fishing was good using swim baits, top water lures, jerk baits, spinner baits and crank baits for northern pike. Fishing was good using worms and grubs for perch. Kokanee snagging was good with the best reports coming from anglers snagging along the dam area. We had no other reports. The surface water temp was in the low to mid 60s.

San Juan River: Stream flow on Monday morning was 448 cfs. Fly fishing action through the Quality Waters was good for anglers using small foam wing emergers, red annelids, min mac midges, and small bead-head pheasant tail nymphs. Trout fishing through the bait waters was good using night crawlers, PowerBait, Fire Balls and copper John Barrs. Fishing further downstream anglers reported catching some nice brown trout in the Hammond tract area. They were using wooly buggers.shing was very good using spinners, PowerBait, Fire Balls and worms for trout.
