Monday, October 9th at 7:30 am, new teachers and staff from the Aztec Municipal Schools District (AMSD) were hosted by Aztec Merchants United at The Aztec HUB for a continental breakfast and community meet and greet. Attendance was strong and included the District’s 45 new hires, as well as many Aztec area merchants, gathered to get to know one another and share community insights. According to Kirk Carpenter, Superintendent of AMSD, this is the first such event welcoming new teachers and district hires to the community.

The HUB was very accommodating to the organizers and many of the attendees were pleased with the mini tour describing the HUB’s role, services and successes. Attendees were also treated to personal introductions to many Aztec merchants, as well as a take-away goodie bag filled with merchant items. Sandi Harber, owner of Urban Rebel Antiques commented that the merchants group was excited by the response, and is looking forward to additional networking events in the upcoming months.

This event was sponsored and organized by The Aztec Merchants United volunteers, TALON, and the City of Aztec Visitors Center.
