From the Aztec Museum

October 6, 2017

Many will recognize this early Aztec building. The Citizen's Bank was built on Main Street in 1910 by founder, T. A. Pierce. Pierce caused quite the stir in Aztec when he arrived in 1903 in a rented automobile with a safe in tow. He had already established himself in the banking business in Trinidad, CO, and set out to make Aztec his next thriving business venture. By 1905 Pierce had established the Citizen's Bank in Aztec. His banking venture certainly paid off- the Citizen's Bank is still around today! Stop by the Aztec Museum Tuesday-Saturday, 9AM-4PM, to see the original tellers' cages that were in the building on Main Street and more!

The Museum will be closing on October 14 for the season.
