Due to positive bacteriological test results on September 11, 2017 on the Gallo Campground’s non-potable water system, the park is issuing a boil advisory for all water consumers in the park. This includes the potable water provided to the visitor center and park housing area. Even though the potable water system did not test positive for bacteria, the boil is being advised as a cautionary measure.

Water consumers should boil their water for at least one minute before drinking, cooking, washing fruits and vegetables, preparing drinks, making ice, and providing water for pets.

To mitigate this issue park staff have provided temporary hand washing facilities and hand sanitizer at the campground. The staff is also taking steps to chlorinate both the non-potable and potable systems. When these actions are completed, we will conduct special monitoring to ensure the system is free from contamination. The park anticipates resolving this problem within the week.
