Aztec's Sebastian McNeal (27) hangs onto a reception while taking contact from two Bayfield, Colo., Wolverines-including Dax Snooks (9)-during non-district play Friday, Sept. 8, at Fred Cook Memorial Stadium. McNeal was one of the AHS passing game's top targets-and a must-stop for BHS in a 48-21 road victory. The 2A Wolverines improved to 3-0 overall, while the 5A Tigers dipped to 0-3 prior to hosting 6A Farmington Piedra Vista this Friday, Sept. 15, at 7:00 p.m. The Panthers will come in standing 2-1 after losing 29-0 at 3A Durango, Colo., on Saturday, 9/9

Aztec junior Reigan Weaver (17) rises to attack over Bayfield, Colorado's Courtney Bayles (4) during home action Tuesday night, Sept. 12. The Lady Tigers, unfortunately, ran into a buzzsaw; ranked #6 in the CHSAANow.com Class 3A poll coming in, the Lady Wolverines needed just 40 minutes, 15 seconds of court time to record a 25-16, 25-10, 25-13 interstate sweep. Up next for Aztec, which dropped to 3-4 overall (still 0-0 in Dist. 1-5A), will be a Sept. 19 visit from 2-5A Espanola Valley and a trip to 3A Pagosa Springs, Colo. Results from AHS' 9/14 visit to 1-4A Shiprock (then 2-6 overall) were unavailable at press time
