SOBRIETY CHECKPOINTS

September 1, 2017

Now that school is back in session, activities for students and communities are underway. San Juan County’s law enforcement agencies are doing their part to keep our communities safe so that parents, families and youth can attend these events.

Sobriety checkpoints are planned in order to help identify impaired drivers and get them out from behind the wheel of the vehicle.

Checkpoints are just one of the enforcement strategies that local law enforcement agencies use to decrease the number of traffic crashes and fatalities due to drivers who have been drinking.

Be aware that State Police, the Sheriff’s Office and Farmington, Bloomfield and Aztec police departments will be out and about and please make the decision to not drink and drive.
