Mike Reid

Mike Reid, a 30+ year resident of Aztec, needs our help. Two years ago he was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis, a disease that attacks the lungs. At this point, Mike has only 30% breathing capability. He was given one year to live, but by God's amazing Grace has outlived that diagnosis by a year.

Mike is well known for being a Truancy Officer in Aztec schools as well as an activity bus driver. He also is the former owner of Pearl Vision in the Animas Mall.

Mike has a zeal for life & a heart to help people in general. He and his wife, Debbie, attend Aztec Nazarene Church and belong to the Christian Motorcycle Association as well as the Gold wing Road Rider's Association.

Recently while researching Pulmonary Fibrosis, Mike found that there have been successful results with using one's own stem cells to heal the lungs. It's an expensive procedure that insurance unfortunately does not pay. The cost is $12,000 with the expense of a trip to Phoenix where the procedure is done.

There is a Motorcycle Ride Fund-raiser planned for Saturday, September 16th from 10:00-1:00, but cars are more than welcome to join us. The cost is $50.00 per motorcycle/car. Lunch is included afterwards. The ride will begin at the Harley Shop in Farmington. Please RSVP for the ride so we have enough food. If you're not able to make the ride, we have a GoFundMe.com account called Life or Death for Mike, or if you're not comfortable with going online, feel free to call Mark Rowe at 505-427-6094. Please help us help Mike Reid, who is very much loved & appreciated in our town.
