There's a new dog in town. Doner Dawg opened its doors on August 23 and is conveniently located on Main street in beautiful downtown Aztec. Owner and Farmington native Jason James and his wife and co-owner Jaima are ready to tempt your taste buds with delectable delights. James said, "We will probably have a grand opening in a couple weeks." Daughters Hailey Kelly and Kira will happily take your order but dad says they will soon be doing everything including cooking and cleaning, "We are just trying to keep it fresh." James said that "doner" means "rotisserie" in Turkish. He and Jaima lived in Germany where he served in the Air Force. "We used to eat this stuff all the time and we joked that someday we would open a doner shop...and here we are," he laughed. The open airy space is tastefully decorated in a style James calls, "Rustic Industrial." The menu features flame roasted marinated beef, chicken or pork kabobs for $7.25, specialty 100% beef hot dogs starting at $2.75 or try some taco sliders three for only $3.90. "We are here to serve the community unique flavorful food at a reasonable price." Come on down to Doner Dawg and welcome the James family to the neighborhood.
