After seven years on Main Street in Aztec Don's Boots and Saddles has closed up shop. Not to worry buckaroos, Don "Spike" Ferguson has just relocated. Ferguson says he will continue to serve the community offering same quality custom boot and saddle repair in his new location.

As of July 1st, Don's Boots and Saddles will move to # 10 CR 3018. Ferguson is not worried his customer base will suffer due to the relocation. "My customers will find me or they can always call, I'm keeping the same number." Ferguson said.

Ferguson studied boot and saddle repair while attending Oklahoma State University in 1987 before moving to Farmington in 1992.

The front of Ferguson's last location at 205 Main Street, Aztec, featured antique de-constructed saddles posted up on a sawhorse that lent a wild west flavor to the boulevard. The interior of the shop was lined with shelves and rows of boots ranging from basic square toed work variety to multi-colored cowboy boots made of ostrich, snake or alligator. Ferguson also constructs saddle bags, chaps and belts using commercial quality sewing and leather crafting machines.

As to what the future will bring, Ferguson said, "I plan on keeping my customers happy, but I'm gonna slow down a little and go fishin!"
