Jennifer Truby recognized


NMDA employee receives Award

New Mexico Department of Agriculture employee, Jennifer Truby, was presented the Community Action Award during the annual service awards in Albuquerque, for her commitment to her community.

Jennifer Truby has worked for NMDA for almost 30 years. She is an Inspector Senior in the Standards and Consumer Services Division. Truby inspects scales, packages, eggs and conducts price verification inspections. During her years of working with the Department, Truby also dedicates her time to help FFA and 4-H youth.

Truby has been working with the 4-H and FFA programs in San Juan County for over 20 years. She helps the wool judging, and egg and poultry teams, as well as travels with the teams to their competitions. Truby, also helps to provide scholarships to FFA students by assisting with fundraisers.

Outside of her job and helping 4-H and FFA youth, Truby volunteers at grower’s markets by giving presentations on egg grading and labeling, and scale certifications. During the Christmas season, Truby also volunteers her time to help feed the homeless in her area.

NMDA began giving the Community Action Award to their dedicated employees in 2015. Truby is the third recipient of the award. The goal of this award is to celebrate those that embody the idea that where action meets compassion, lives change.
