Setting the Pace for the 37th Annual Cancer Walkathon

Since you’re going to be walking (or running) all summer anyway, why not be a pacesetter and join the 100?! That’s exactly what the San Juan Medical Foundation staff was thinking when they had the innovative idea to increase awareness and participation in the upcoming 37th Annual Cancer Walkathon.

The Cancer Walkathon is San Juan Medical Foundation’s premier annual event. Hundreds of people gather to pay tribute to friends and loved ones who have had cancer, or are currently undergoing treatment.

This group of pacesetters—the 100—are taking their walk further by getting a head start on the Walkathon, a 100-day head start to be exact. They hope to walk (or run) 100 miles in 100 days, and earn hundreds of dollars for those who greatly need their help and support.

As they take each step, they will be posting pictures on social media with hashtags #SJMF #team100 #100daysmilesdollars #imwalking #followme to encourage the community and fellow team members to get involved!

Register online at http://www.SanJuanMedicalFoundation.com—or stop by the San Juan Medical Foundation office at 730 S. Lake St. in Farmington. There is a $10 registration fee, which includes a 100 T-shirt (while supplies last) and a mile tracker. San Juan Regional Medical Center has generously donated 100 pedometers to the first registrants, from their FET program, as an incentive to get out there and walk!
