San Juan Health Partners Family Medicine is expanding its services to meet the individual needs of the community. Starting this month, midwifery services will be offered at the Aztec clinic, which is a division of San Juan Regional Medical Center.

The Certified Nurse-Midwives offer convenient, compassionate care for women through all stages of life: from puberty to pregnancy, postpartum to menopause. The services include prenatal visits and education, postnatal care and well-woman exams. The midwives take the time to listen to and get to know each patient and personalize a plan of care tailored to meet their needs.

Midwives are registered nurses with advanced education in midwifery. They are licensed to write prescriptions. They combine the ancient art of safely guiding women through pregnancy and birth with the technology and science of modern obstetrics, giving their patients the best of both worlds.

In addition to midwifery and family practice care, the clinic, offers cardiology and behavioral health services, as well as an eHealth program for students at Aztec Municipal Schools.
