On May 11, at approximately 2 pm, the Four Corners Community Bank in Aztec was robbed by an unidentified man. After leaving the bank, the vehicle allegedly went north on Lightplant Road causing Koogler Middle School to be placed on lock down for a short period of time. According to Superintendent Kirk Carpenter, the officers thought the suspect might have come into the school parking lot. The school was secured while the vehicles in the parking lot were searched.

Carpenter also said the vehicle was not found at the school but had continued out Lightplant Road, past the school, and headed into Colorado.

A possible suspect was picked up in La Plata County, Colorado, shortly after the robbery and is being questioned. No names have been released by the FBI at this time.
