Sample salsa and listen to poetry and readings by local writers when Farmington Writers Circle hosts an evening with local authors. Artifacts Gallery in Farmington will host a booksigning and salsa tasting party during the Art Walk on June 9. The event will be from 5 to 9 pm.

Open mic readings by Four Corners writers will highlight the event, and local luminary Scott Michlin of KSJE public radio will host the open mic.

Local and regional authors, poets and writers of all genre will participate in booksignings and open mic.

• Author Kevin Boekhoff will delight the audience with ventroloquism, and will also be signing his books

• Horror writer and founder of the Farmington Writers Cirle, Phil Slattery will send chills up your spine.

• Go on a hen lit journey with Quinn’s Quest by Gloria O’Shields.

• Local writer for Majestic Magazine, Margaret Cheasebro will bring her “Healing Trees” young adult books to sign.

• Patricia Barlow, operator of the Mustang Camp in Largo Canyo signs her first novel, Beyond the Roadhouse.

• Salsa tasting from Artifacts Chili Gallery will challenge your taste buds as Lee Pierce tempts your palette with recipes from “What Do You Mean the Cook’s Not Mexican.”
