San Juan College radio station KSJE 90.9FM is holding their inaugural Zero Mile Fun Run on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at 11 a.m., at the Learning Commons Plaza at San Juan College. This event is a fund raiser for the radio station, which has been gaining support under a new listener-supported business model approved by the San Juan College Board of Trustees in 2016.

“There will be a run, but it’s zero miles.” said KSJE General Manager Scott Michlin. “It’s exactly like it sounds.”

“People may think it’s a joke, but we’re serious,” added KSJE Advisory Board President Jenny Lee Ryan.

“This is a fund raiser for KSJE, but also a celebration of the station’s growing financial stability,” Michlin said.

In addition to the run, there will be live music, activities for all ages, and food for purchase courtesy of Mary’s Kitchen at San Juan College. The $25 registration includes a free Zero Mile Fun Run student-designed t-shirt and access to the event. Pre-registration begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 20. The race will begin at 11 a.m. and end promptly at 11:05 a.m. (Remember, it’s Zero Miles!).
