Starting on May 9th, the City of Bloomfield Water Department will begin treating the north water pressure zone (north of B Hill) with oxidized chlorine in order to reduce the levels of disinfectant by-products and increase the free chlorine level. The product to be used is called Clearitas 101, and is a NSF-certified water supply additive. The water can continue to be used as usual.

This treatment may continue for up to a year. Operators will be monitoring chlorine levels to ensure that they are within limits. If you notice a strong chlorine smell, a change in color, reduced water pressure, or have questions, please contact Rubin Armenta at 632-2486.
