Fun for the Whole Family

April 28, 2017

The Farmington Regional Animal Shelter is holding their annual Bark in the Park & Doggie Dash this Saturday, April 29th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Animas Park, Farmington.

"Dogs are integral members of families, and this is a fun family event with activities that welcome them as well. This includes the Doggie Dash where you can run or walk along with your dogs, so make sure you preregister online so you can get t-shirts and doggie bandannas for everyone," says Stacie Voss,

Director for the Farmington Regional Animal Shelter. "Then the vendors open and other activities start at 11:00 a.m."

The day kicks off with the Doggie Dash, an almost two-mile walk/run starting at 10:00 a.m. Preregister at http://www.fmtn.org/WebTrac under "Sports & Athletics," or call the Farmington Recreation Center for assistance at (505) 599-1184.

With a total of 22 booths, including food, and plenty of activities starting at 11:00 a.m. the whole family will have fun. We are looking forward to having the Farmington Police Department and their K9 Demo back this year along with the New Mexico Badlands Search and Rescue team. And new this year, a special presentation from the Raptor Rescue and a visit from Sniffles, the ventriloquist dog with a cold.

Attendees can buy raffle tickets to support the Regional Animal Shelter Foundation, which in turn supports the Farmington Regional Animal Shelter. Raffle prizes are pet friendly and include free boarding, doggie treats, and more.
