What's collected in Aztec stays in Aztec

April 28, 2017

This year marks the 25th anniversary for the annual letter carriers "Stamp out Hunger" food drive. This is the largest one-day food collection event in the US and certainly here in Aztec. Each year Aztec gives generously and as always, the food collected goes to the First United Methodist's Food bank right here in Aztec to help folks in Aztec and Bloomfield.

The food drive is critical to replenish the supply at the food bank and we can help make a difference for needy families, seniors, vets and anyone who is just having a tough time making ends meet.

It's very easy to donate, just look for the food drive bags in your mailbox during the week and fill it with non-perishable food items. Place the bags by your mailbox and your letter carrier will do the rest! We are also collecting pet food and supplies to help our furry friends as well.

A very special thank you to Mike Meniccuci and Safeway for the bags, thank you to our rural carriers and clerks and all the folks at the First United Methodist Church who give tirelessly for this event. Last year Aztec alone collected more food than all of Farmington and that's something to be proud of. Let's make this food drive another one to remember!
